We are a small and exclusive family-run business, based in the Surrey Hills, selling high quality corporate gifts to some of the country's most prestigious companies and institutions, and holding a Royal Warrant of Appointment to His Majesty the King as a maker of silver gifts, seeking to recruit an energetic candidate in the position of Operations and Logistics Executive.
We are looking for a candidate who is positive, friendly, and willing to help with all situations. We are a small team and are looking for someone to work hard and have fun in a busy and varied environment. If you have experience in this role already this will help, but it is not essential. Strong organisational skills are important as you will oversee all of the business’ logistics. Basic understanding of programs such as Microsoft Excel and Word would be required.
Responsibilities:
1. Organising and replenishing stock in our small warehouse (no staff) including retail stock and corporate orders from international and UK suppliers.
2. Regular stock taking to ensure stock items are available/replenished in due time.
3. Arranging deliveries & collections to clients and from factories - international (mainly China/Far-East) & domestic.
4. Booking in deliveries with prestigious clients who require formal paperwork.
5. Organising our part-time packers workload and schedule.
6. Working to Client’s lead times and ensuring product arrives on time to meet the required delivery date. Effectively communicating with clients in the event of any delays.
7. Quality checking and packing products efficiently – Reporting back to suppliers if any discrepancies/defective products.
8. Producing delivery notes and labels for all deliveries.
9. Tracking all deliveries and ensuring they arrive safely and intact.
10. Occasional heavy lifting of product and boxes.
11. Occasional delivery or collection of goods locally, this will require the use of your own vehicle.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £28,000.00 per year
Schedule:
* Monday to Friday - 9am to 5:30pm (Fridays to 5:00pm)
Ability to commute/relocate:
Dorking: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Please note that the office is based in rural Dorking, so you would be required to have a full driver's license to commute.
Experience:
* Logistics: 1 year (preferred)
