This post is for a part-time (4 PAs) Consultant in Oral Surgery.
The appointment is with the Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (LUHFT). The position is based at Liverpool University Dental Hospital.
This post forms part of a high quality consultant led oral surgery network across Cheshire & Merseyside. The post holder will join the current team within Liverpool University Dental Hospital.
The post holder is expected to have a high level of knowledge and expertise in the field of Oral Surgery and should have an innovative approach to patient care, teaching and management.
The post holder will be expected to work under the line management of the Care Group Clinical Director and Divisional Medical Director of Liverpool University Dental Hospital.
The post has an important role in teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate students. The post holder is responsible to the School to discharge this duty.
The post holder is expected to provide treatment under local anaesthesia, intravenous sedation and general anaesthesia and offering flexibility to satisfy NHS targets.
The post holder will have responsibility for carrying out teaching, examination and accreditation duties as required and contributing to postgraduate and continuing medical and dental activity, locally and nationally.

There will be opportunities within the unit to take part in and lead research, audit and quality improvement projects, which will be developed through discussion with the clinical lead and be monitored through the appraisal process.
The post holder will be expected to liaise with colleagues in LUDH, within our Trust and across Cheshire & Merseyside.
The post holder will be expected to engage in their own continuing professional development and to provide continuing dental education for other staff.
