At Change Grow Live, our mission is to help people change the direction of their lives, grow as individuals, and live life to its full potential. We have an established partnership with SMART Recovery UK where we recruit volunteers who once trained, will go on to facilitate SMART recovery meetings within our services to the people we support. As a SMART Recovery Meeting Facilitator Volunteer, you will facilitate meetings which teach rational, easy to learn and self-empowering skills to help participants abstain from any addictive behaviour and to develop a lifestyle that supports sustained recovery. With SMART Recovery UK, you will complete 20 hours of online training modules, which includes ‘Introduction to SMART Recovery’, ‘Getting SMART’ and the Facilitator module. You will also complete accredited organisational training with Change Grow Live. SMART Recovery Meeting Facilitator Volunteers should be in recovery themselves for at least 6 months. It is essential that you are stable in your own recovery and have a good level of self-awareness. You’ll have ongoing support from both an allocated SMART Recovery Community Coordinators and a named supervisor at Change Grow Live. You will join a friendly and dedicated team where you can really make a difference to the life of others. Have lived experience of any addictive behaviour and in recovery for at least 6 months • A sound understanding of addictive behaviours and the challenges people who use Change Grow Live services face • Ability to work with professional boundaries • Good verbal and written communication skills • IT literacy • Excellent time management skills, and an ability to work on own initiative prioritising accordingly • Ability to liaise and work in partnership with a wide range of professionals and agencies • Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality This post is subject to a DBS check at an enhanced level 26/3/2025 Sue Park | sue.parkcgl.org.uk | 07741163146 Please note that we require you to be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this volunteering role.
