Role: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Exmouth
Contract: Full time, Contract (opportunity to become permanent)
Salary: £90 - £100 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

Long-Term Teachers have an incredibly unique and rewarding opportunity to work at an innovative, forward-thinking specialist provision in Exmouth. The school is seeking to appoint proactive and hardworking learning support assistants to contribute effectively to their close-knit team.
About the role:
You will be providing essential support for students aged 7 - 16 who have a range of complex needs, including those who are deaf, autistic or have severe and profound learning difficulties. You will typically be working on a 1:1 basis to support students with their learning in the classroom. You will assist the teacher in delivering the lessons. As well as academic support, you will provide essential support for students' social and emotional wellbeing.
The ideal candidate:
1. Previous experience working with individuals with complex needs
2. Experience working with deaf or hearing-impaired children or young adults, preferably within an educational setting would be advantageous
3. Qualification in British Sign Language (Level 1, 2 or 3) would be advantageous. However, training will be provided by the school to support your professional development so you should be willing to undertake this.
4. A compassionate and patient approach
5. The ability to adapt to different learning styles
6. A valid DBS check (or willingness to get one)
This role is to start as soon as possible. You will be working Monday - Friday, 9am - 3:30pm, term time only.
