The school is looking for a Head of IT to join its team. Key Responsibilities Managing the IT systems at King Edward VI School, Southampton, and King Edward VI Preparatory School, Romsey, including networking, cybersecurity, and cloud services, to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency. Supporting the Assistant Head (Digital Strategy) in defining and delivering an effective digital strategy and leading the execution of the strategic plan. Advising the schools on future developments to enhance IT provision by staying up to date with current and emerging trends and industry best practices. Line managing the IT Support Team to ensure efficient and effective support for staff and pupils. Advising on and monitoring the application of all IT policies at the schools. Managing the security of the networks, which includes maintaining awareness of current and future issues. Managing CCTV permissions, access and access logs. Overseeing the day-to-day activity of the helpdesk and ensuring a consistent IT support service is delivered across the schools. Skills and Experience Educated to degree level or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years’ IT experience, with some project experience. Experience of providing technical support in a service environment. Practical experience of IT hardware and operating systems. Knowledge of Windows Server (possibly SCCM, DPM, SCEP) and Network Security Fabric, including edge firewalls, VPNs and anti-virus software. Strong attention to detail.
