The Role:
Mech Electrics are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Site Manager to oversee the electrical installation work on various projects in the heart of Manchester City Centre. This role will offer you the opportunity to manage high-end commercial developments, prestigious residential projects, and state-of-the-art office spaces. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring electrical installations are completed to the highest standards, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and Manage Electrical Teams: Oversee and coordinate a team of electricians and subcontractors, ensuring they are working safely, efficiently, and to project specifications.
Site Management: Manage day-to-day site operations, ensuring that electrical work is progressing according to the project schedule and meeting the required standards.
Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that all electrical work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations and industry best practices. Perform regular site audits and risk assessments.
Client and Stakeholder Communication: Act as the key point of contact for clients, consultants, and project managers, ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution of any issues.
Quality Control: Monitor the quality of electrical installations, ensuring compliance with specifications, relevant codes, and industry standards.
Project Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work completed, including progress reports, inspection logs, and safety documentation.
Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any electrical issues that arise during the project, providing effective solutions to ensure project deadlines are met.
Budget and Resource Management: Manage electrical project budgets, ensuring costs are controlled and resources are efficiently allocated.
Schedule Management: Ensure that electrical tasks are delivered on time, coordinating with other trades to meet the overall project timelines.
Requirements:
Proven Experience: A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an Electrical Site Manager role, ideally in commercial, residential, or mixed-use developments.
Qualifications: A relevant electrical qualification (e.g., 18th Edition, HND, or equivalent), along with a Site Management qualification such as SMSTS or SSSTS.
Strong Leadership Skills: Experience in managing teams and subcontractors, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of Regulations: Strong understanding of electrical regulations and building codes (i.e., IEE Wiring Regulations, BS7671, etc.).
Health & Safety Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of health and safety legislation and best practices on construction sites.
Project Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that they stay within budget and are delivered on time.
Organised and Detail-Oriented: Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities, deadlines, and quality control.
Valid UK Driving License: A full, clean driving license is essential for this role.
