Qualifications needed:
· Full GMC Registration with a license to practice
· Section 12 certification, or a commitment to work towards this.
· Mastery in the management of a broad range of mental disorders in old age, including neurodegenerative disorders
· At least 4 years of full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time basis) of which at least 2 years will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee or shall have equivalent experience and competencies

We are currently recruiting for a Community Old Age Psychiatry Specialty Doctor position in theOlder Adults Mental Health Team and Memory Service (West Locality), based at Broad Street Centre, Morland Road, Dagenham, Essex, RM10 9HU.This is a replacement, substantive, full-time post - 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) post with 8 Direct Clinical Contact activities (DCC) and 2 Supporting Professional Activity (SPA).
The post holder will be the sole Specialty Doctor for patients in the West locality but there are another 3.7wte Old Age Consultant Psychiatrists working across the three localities (North, East and West). There is also a 0.8wte Speciality Doctor working in the North locality.
You will be expected to:
· Workaspartofmultidisciplinaryteamsprovidingcaretoolder adultpeople with mental health needs, across Barking and Dagenham.
· Provideseniormedicalsupporttotheteam,anddirectinputonclinicalcases.
· Provideguidanceandsupervisiontotheteam.
· Work directly with older adult people and their families and liaise as appropriate with other external older adult mental health providers, and acutehospitals.
· Work alongside the Consultants and other Specialist Doctor within the service and share clinical supervision requirements with them.
· Developlinksalreadyestablishedwiththelocalacutetrusts’A&Edepartments and inpatient wards.
· Beresponsibleforpatientsallocatedtothemandwillassess,manage,plan,and deliver care.
· Supportyourpeersandtheteammanagerandbeaneffectiveteammember whilst working on their own initiative.
· Supervisejuniorcolleaguesandliaisewithotherhealthandsocialprofessionals and agencies.
