Temporary Receptionist - Leisure Centre - Full Time Hours

The post holder will be at the forefront of customer services dealing with the public at reception desk and by telephone. The duties will also include operating a computerised booking/cash system, selling tickets/issuing receipts and maintenance of information databases, directing conference delegates and other users.
The post holder will assume other delegated duties relevant to the post reasonably assigned by the Duty Officer.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In line with the Council’s Customer Care Standards, provide a front of house service to include greeting and advising customers and responding to customer queries to ensure that all customers have a positive and enjoyable experience.
Proactively sell and promote services offered by the Centre and Sports Services. This will include point of sales promotions and, on occasion, promoting services at special events.
Process casual and member activity bookings including taking telephone and emails inquiries.
Process customer purchases and reconcile cash in preparation for lodgement in accordance with Council procedures.
Carry out all relevant clerical duties pertaining to the role as and when required as instructed by the Operations Manager.
Under the direction of Operations Manager, assist in the replenishment of stock, stock control and replenishment of information stands.

It is essential that applicants have a minimum of:
1.1 - 5 GCSE passes at grade A-C, NVQ level 2 or equivalent
1.2 - One years’ experience in a similar position, to include front of house, customer service, administration/clerical work
1.3 - Experience in cash handling and the preparation of lodgements.
1.4 - Experience using MS Word and Outlook.
Where applicants do not hold the qualifications as outlined in 1.1 above, they must demonstrate a minimum of 4 years’ experience as outlined in 1.2 above.

Good Customer Care skills.
Effective Oral & written communication skills.
Good Organisational skills
General:
Applicants must be prepared to work on a rota system which includes evenings and weekend work.
Desirable:
1. 5 - Knowledge of a Computerised System
Location: Carryduff
Hours: 37 (must be able to work weekends) on a rota basis
Hourly rate of pay £13.26 per hour
Temp contract (possible extension to the contract)
