Salary: Between £20,340 and £21,188 per annum, based on working 37.5 hours per week, term time only (39.6 weeks per year)

Every person deserves the chance to get an education. Some learners may need a little more help than others. Thats where you come in. As a learning Support Assistant, youll work with young people (Aged 16+) living with Autism, ADHD and other disabilities that impact their education.
Our curriculum isnt like a mainstream college We dont focus as much on qualifications. The learning support you provide would be more focused on life skills, learning programmes, work experience, Maths and English skills, and other activities to enrich the learners experiences.
This college has between 5 and 7 learners in each class, so youll have the chance to really get to know the learners you support.
A day in the life of a Learning Support Assistant will involve:
Assisting teaching staff in all classroom activities including planning, teaching and assessing learning.
Working closely with students keeping them engaged, motivated and inspired to reach their full potential.
Working either 1-2-1 with learners, or in small group settings to help them achieve their learning goals.
To be a successful Learning Support Assistant, youll need:
Patience, compassion, and resilience The learners youll support have Autism and ADHD, which may have an impact on their behaviour and communication needs.
Great communication skills Both verbal and written communication is important in this role as youll be speaking to a lot of different people at different times and need to be able to update the learners plans.
A driving licence Our learners love to go on fieldtrips. We need you to be able to drive them to where they need to go. We have the cars; you just need the licence.
A genuine interest in a career focused on the education of people with Autism and other neurodiversity and disabilities.
