North Tees and Hartlepool Solutions are seeking a diligent and experienced Clerk of works who will be accountable to the Head of Design and Development specifically responsible for the effective and efficient monitoring and reporting against major capital, revenue and minor works development projects to ensure that construction and maintenance work is executed to the highest standards, in compliance with all regulations, within timeframes and budgets. This role is pivotal in maintaining the golden thread of information, integrity and safety of the Trusts Estates. The role will require travel across all Trust sites in order to deliver the particular project and provision of support to colleagues and participation in the project teams as required to deliver the project.
Main duties of the job
The post holder works within appropriate building, technical and health and safety policies and guidelines and will provide general technical advice to colleagues and internal clients. This would include advice to senior managers to ensure projects are completed in compliance with all statutory and legislative requirements and in accordance with NHS and Department of Health (DoH) technical standards
The role will contribute to reviews of policies and procedures e.g. Safe Management of Contractors and other similar policies, impacting on the wider organisation.
The post holder will fulfil all duties and responsibilities of the role as defined under relevant NEC Contracts e.g., Supervisor role. This requires interpretation of relevant contract clauses, statutory requirements, NHS / DoH and other relevant guidance.

Job responsibilities
The successful applicant will be required to ensure that installation and repair work on new and refurbishment projects is carried out to a satisfactory level of quality and complies with relevant NTHFT/DoH technical standards and the project specification. They will be responsible for confirming compliance of technical installations which authorises payments (by others) to external contractors for services rendered to North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust in respect of physical infrastructure work. Also responsible for ensuring all commissioning information is provided by the Contractor and retained in an appropriate and accessible location for use by all Estates and Design and Development Department and other staff as required under current CDM Regulations.
Person Specification
* Specialist building construction industry knowledge up to HNC level or equivalent in technical subject
* Ability to effectively engage with, and influence people at all levels within and out with the organisation, e.g. service managers and multidisciplinary teams of construction professionals
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce detailed reports and have good record keeping skills.
* Professional membership of appropriate body e.g. ICWCI, CIOB
* Health and safety knowledge up to Nebosh Level 3
