Controls Engineer

Working within the controls engineering team, focused on ensuring the compliance including cyber security of PRISMIC products by developing and upgrading software standards.
We are currently looking to recruit a Controls Engineer who is used to working on cyber security related projects within either the industrial, power, or automation sectors. Opportunity to be a part of an established team who are constantly driving development programmes.
Salary & Package: £45,000 per annum as a guide – flexible depending on experience. 25 days holidays + bank holidays. Hybrid working with flexible hours.
This Controls Engineer job will suit:
1. A proven Electrical / Controls Engineer who is used to working on projects relating to control systems used within engineering applications.
2. Sector experience will likely come from either the industrial, power, or automation fields.
3. Come from an OT background. We need someone who is practical with both hardware and software.
4. Specific Cyber Security experience would be an advantage, but this can be developed providing you come from a practical OT background.
5. A high level of competency in C, C++ for QNX, embedded Linux and Windows.

The Controls Engineer job will involve:
1. Working with the controls engineering team to design software for controls and monitoring systems, ensuring alignment with cyber security standards for windows & QNX platforms.
2. Develop best practice, procedures, check lists and implement security standards for PRISMIC systems and solutions, meeting the diverse requirements of IEC and specific clients.
3. Create and maintain a repository of common terms, concepts, and models for PRISMIC systems that can be utilised by all engineers involved in control system design.
4. Implement the secure network protocols such as SSL/TLS, HTTPS, SSH, SFPT, secure industrial protocols for PRISMIC control systems.
5. Occasionally work on-site in the UK, offshore, and overseas as required to support sales and service personnel. We envisage one or two trips per year overseas as a guide so travel is very minimal.
