Job overview
We are looking to appoint a full-time Consultant Physician in Diabetes, Endocrinology, and General Medicine to join our dynamic and developing team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
Applicants will be expected to have completed, or be within six months of completing, Higher Specialist Training in General (Internal) Medicine with CCT & entry onto the Specialist Register.
You will have a passion and enthusiasm for providing the highest quality compassionate care, along with ambition & skills to drive improvement and engage others in the importance of this work. We anticipate the opportunity for the appointee to develop a sub-specialty interest within the role.

Person specification
Qualifications
* MRCP/FRCP or equivalent
* Training to level commensurate with award of CCT or within 6 months CCT in General Medicine and Diabetes-Endocrinology
* Entry on GMC Specialist Register
* Higher Degree
* Specialist interest or additional qualifications in other areas of diabetes/endocrinology
Experience
* Experience of supervising junior doctors
* Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of diabetes-endocrinology issues
* Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
* Experience in a similar post
* Experience in a leadership role
* Clinical leadership experience or training
* Experience as an educational supervisor or clinical tutor
Skills
* General and clinical skills in order to be able to participate in the GIM on-call rota
* Communicate effectively with multi-professional colleagues to ensure a professional relationship.
* Motivational skills, leadership skills, flexible approach
