Our client is recruiting an Assistant Management Accountant to join their team. The successful Assistant Management Accountant candidate will be someone who is eager to learn, driven to take on new responsibilities and make the most of this opportunity to be supported by a capable and understanding team. Previous experience of assisting in the preparation of the monthly management accounts is essential as well as an eagerness to understand the business’s wider commercial position and how that is affected by the processes and decisions made in the finance department. The Assistant Management Accountant will have the opportunity to work closely with the Financial Controller to design and implement new processes that will directly affect the whole business. Key tasks and responsibilities
* Assist in maintaining accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
* Process invoices and ensure timely payments to suppliers and contractors.
* Reconcile accounts and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.
* Assist with preparing financial reports for management, including cash flow statements and budget tracking.
* Help prepare year-end financial statements and audits.
* Assist with payroll processing and other HR-related financial tasks.
* Support the Financial Controller in managing the company’s financial operations and identifying areas for productivity improvements.
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
* Respond to internal and external queries related to financial matters.
Qualifications and experience
* A minimum of 2 years experience in a management accounts or finance role.
* A solid understanding of basic accounting principles and financial controls.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work well within a small, dynamic team.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* A positive, proactive attitude and a willingness to learn.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics is desirable.
