Salford Royal Gastro-Intestinal Physiology Department based at The Willows Centre for Health in the community are looking to employ an individual who is qualified in GI Clinical Physiology. The successful applicant will be competent and qualified (or at the end of their training period such as STP) in a range of GI Physiology including upper and lower GI physiology. You would also be expected to fulfil deputy roles and teaching/training.
We are a team of 5 core staff which includes a Clinical Scientist, Clinical Physiologists and an admin clerk and are looking to complete our team with an enthusiastic and compassionate qualified individual. Our referrals are from all over the North West which includes as far north as Cumbria and Crewe to the south. We are part of a North West GI Physiology network, and have strong links with the National School of Healthcare Science and Newcastle University which forms part of the Scientist Training Programme.
Main duties of the job
In GI Physiology we are looking to employ a GI Clinical Physiologist / Scientist in this busy physiology department. Currently we have 3 full time and 1 part time physiologists so being a team player and a motivated individual is essential. We receive referrals from all over the North West as well as from our own trust. You will be able to undertake oesophageal manometry, 24hr pH/impedance monitoring, as well as anorectal physiology investigations in the first instance. You will have the ability to analyse and report your findings with a technical and clinical report. We also undertake a range of other investigations and treatments, such as biofeedback, High Resolution impedance Manometry (HRiM), antroduodenal manometry, capsule enteroscopy as well as a range of breath tests. Although these are not essential to the role in the first instance there is scope to expand your knowledge and skills. Ideally you will be an AGIP accredited practitioner, and on either the RCCP or HCPC register.
Person Specification
* HCPC regulation or about to be regulated as at end of STP training or equivalence
* AGIP accreditation or about to obtain accreditation as completing STP training
* Experience in upper and lower GI physiology including analysis and reporting
* AGIP membership
* Teaching qualification
