Sales Development Representative
EdTech, North Yorkshire
£25,000 + commission (Potential to earn an extra £700 - £1,000 per month) + Package
We're looking for someone who is based in North Yorkshire. The role is 5 days onsite here, then down to 3 once probation has been passed.
Troi Search are delighted to be once again partnering with our child safeguarding client. We've already placed a huge percentage of the sales team, so know what we're looking for. The client has built a SaaS platform, which is used by over 70% of UK schools to help with the monitoring of child protection, safeguarding and a whole range of pastoral and welfare issues.
This software product genuinely reduces the chance of children being seriously injured or dying in care.
We're looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to work hand in hand with the Sales Team to generate leads and build a sales pipeline. You'll be making calls and creating email campaigns, targeting new potential clients to sell these safeguarding products to - think schools, charities, youth clubs, sports teams - anywhere where child safety is paramount.
What you'll be doing:
1. Acting as the first impression for new prospects and current clients as they move through the sales funnel.
2. Work directly with marketing to discover opportunities from leads and attempt to set appointments from those leads.
3. Provide a high volume of outbound calling and emailing to prospective clients.
4. Manage the sales enquiries/orders and action all correspondence accordingly.
5. Use strong selling and influencing skills to set up qualified appointments.
6. Understand the products & solutions enough to provide a high-level introduction.
7. Update and maintain customer database using Salesforce.
8. Prepare and deliver weekly and monthly updates to the Sales Managers.
What skills do you need:
This role would suit someone either straight out of University (ideally with an education or business slant) or someone with some pre-existing sales or customer contact experience. Other skills needed include:
1. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
2. Ideally some knowledge of Salesforce.com.
3. Strong in-person, phone, and written communication skills.
4. Confidence in making calls and speaking to customers.
5. Good analytical and administrative skills.
6. Ability to multi-task, prioritise tasks, and shift work efforts based on the needs of the department or business goals.
7. Ability to make formal and informal presentations to staff and clients.
8. Ability to manage time effectively, work independently, and be self-motivated.
9. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced sales environment.
10. Pro-active, independent thinker with high energy/positive attitude.
11. Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and relationship skills.
12. Good inter-personal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Essential Qualifications:
Grade C (or equivalent) or above in Maths and English is essential.
Details:
* Salary of c. £25,000 + commission (Potentially around £700/£1,000 per month) & benefits (holiday, pension etc.)
* 5 days in office (North Yorkshire), then dropping down to 3 in office once probation is passed.
* Lovely team already established; you'd be the 4th SDR with an established sales management and admin team to support you.
