Nestled in the picturesque village of Perranarworthal, we pride ourselves on creating memorable experiences for our guests. The Norway has four guest rooms and is open each morning for breakfast. Job Description: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our team of over 24 members and oversee the daily operations of the Norway Inn. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, a keen eye for detail a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service and great at developing those around them and mentoring apprentices. Please note there is no live in with this position. Key Responsibilities: Leadership: Inspire and motivate the team to deliver outstanding service. Lead by example and foster a positive work environment. Promote a culture of development and guide our apprentices to success. Operations: Manage day-to-day operations, including staffing, inventory, and financial performance. Guest Experience: Ensure guests receive exceptional service from arrival to departure. Address any concerns promptly and professionally. Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with our marketing team to promote The Norway Inn through social media, events, and local partnerships. Financial Management: Monitoring weekly P&Ls, control costs, and maximize revenue opportunities. Quality Control: Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and overall quality throughout the inn. Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with the local community and participate in community events. Qualifications / Skills: Customer Service: Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Personal License Holder (can be arranged if not held but would need to demonstrate pervious operations experience and due diligence) Food Safety: Level 3 food safety preferred. Allergen Awareness: Min level 2 Cellar Management: High level of knowledge on operating a pub cellar including line cleaning, yield controls and problem solving. Technology: Understanding of how the use of technology and ai can help you’re the operational and your own efficiency. Sustainability: Knowledge of how to make those small changes to the business for a lower environmental impact and long term business gain. Financial Acumen: Proficient in budgeting, cost control, and revenue management.
