Job summary University Hospitals Birmingham manages The South Birmingham Breast Screening Programme and provides Breast Symptomatic Services across Birmingham and Solihull. An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Health Inequality Specialist Radiographer to join our friendly multi-disciplinary Breast Imaging Team. This is a key role within the Breast Screening service focusing on reducing breast health inequalities and barriers to uptake of breast screening across the geographical covered by the service. There will be the opportunity to maintain clinical skills across both screening and symptomatic breast services. Applicants must hold a Post Graduate Award in Mammography, a Radiography Degree or equivalent, and current HCPC Registration. Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders are essential for this role. Main duties of the job The postholder will be responsible for identifying and developing strategies and interventions to address health inequalities in the local eligible screening population. They will have excellent communication skills and will engage with a variety of stakeholders to collaborate and develop the appropriate approaches and interventions to improve breast health awareness. They will be an integral part of the Breast Imaging management team ensuring delivery of a high-quality breast screening service that meets all of the NHSBSP key performance indicators. The post holder will work as part of the multidisciplinary team undertaking high quality mammography examinations in the South Birmingham Breast Screening Service and the symptomatic breast referral services for University Hospitals Birmingham NHSFT.
