Are you an experienced insurance ops management professional, with strong experience gained in a Broker, MGA, UW Agency, or composite insurer? If so, we have a role for you that will offer you a great challenge and the opportunity to move into a head of Operations role in a truly exciting business.
We are working closely with a genuinely great Broking group, who have shown impressive growth over the last few years and now number 25 staff in total. They have an exciting opportunity for someone to join their senior management team. Speaking to the MD was a breath of fresh air; he is passionate about the business, and this is a key role in their growth and continued success, being his number 2, looking after all things Ops in this broker business. As such, he needs someone who can roll up their sleeves and get involved with various areas of the business in a high-pressure role.
As the Head of Ops, you will report into the MD, and the Head of Commercial and Head of Private Clients will report into you. This is a senior leadership position within this growing broker. The role requires someone highly organised, as there is a lot of plate spinning involved! The business currently has 3 offices, and ideally, they would need someone to be based 3 days a week in the Surrey office, with the other 2 days being work from home.
You will be responsible for the daily management of all operations in this business. The role will focus on general day-to-day business operations, covering staffing, HR, and Compliance, and being the most senior manager in the Surrey office on a weekly basis, heading this office up. They use an external HR company and Compliance too, so you will be supported in those two areas.
To be considered, you will need a minimum of 5 years of insurance experience, with a background in leading and managing a successful team. You should be able to work to tight deadlines and under pressure while driving a customer-focused culture and making solid decisions quickly to solve problems.
You will also have a proven ability to coach team members to enhance performance and service and be a confident and influential communicator with the ability to negotiate at all levels. Experience in analysing data and MI reporting is preferred, along with demonstrable experience in continuous improvement and change management.
In return, the salary on offer is £60-68k, with 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension, and after probation: private medical cover, death in service cover, employee assistance program, and an employee reward discount program.
