An opportunity has arisen within Cancer Care at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) for a full time Service Manager to join our busy management team. This is an exciting and challenging role within the care group in which the post holder would have an opportunity to make a direct positive impact on patient experience within the Trust.
Cancer Care is a compassionate, dynamic and high profile care group which covers a wide range of specialties from treatments for patients with cancer including chemotherapy and radiotherapy to a Regional Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. We are also the Regional Primary Treatment Centre for Teenagers and Young Adults with cancer

You will support the operational running of the service including having oversight of a number of performance targets and waiting times, as well as identify areas for service improvement.
You will deliver the operational and strategic aims of the care group within your services, developing and managing a culture of change which drives efficiency, effectiveness and improve patient outcomes.
The post holder will work in close liaison with the Care Group Manager, the Clinical Lead and senior nursing team to consistently ensure the quality of patient care through efficiently and effectively managing the department.
Budget manager as designated and authorised signatory.
The post holder will lead in the interpretation, analysis and implementation of national and local policy and procedure, to ensure expected and explicit standards of clinical and managerial practice are in place.
The post holder will have responsibility for the setting of service and managerial standards of care
The successful candidate must have a drive for improvement and innovation and will need to focus at an operational and strategic level, supporting the Care Group Manager to improve services for patients and staff within the care group. They must be dedicated to high quality services to patients and be a visible role model.
The successful candidate will be adaptable, have excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, have excellent communication skills, a good attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. The post holder will be responsible for the line management of the A&C team and the ideal candidate would have previous experience of line management.
The successful candidate will work well as part of a team, be professional and personable at all times, able to multi-task as well as being able to work under pressure.
