Wood is recruiting a Project Manager with extensive experience in the decommissioning of offshore oil and gas facilities from an operator's perspective on a permanent staff basis. This role is based in Aberdeen and hybrid working with the expectation of working 3 days from our Aberdeen office. LI-Hybrid Responsibilities The Role You will create delivery excellence across the assigned project/portfolio, provide certainty and confidence to the customer/project sponsor, and robust control of project scope, schedule, cost and risks. Specify and coordinate the implementation and completion of a moderately sized project, a portfolio of small projects, or a major component of a large project. This includes taking responsibility for safe delivery, ensuring that quality, schedule, and cost targets are met and managing project risks. Taking responsibility for overall project delivery in line with the agreed scope, estimated cost and delivery schedule, for managing change and customer relationships, and ensuring appropriate reporting and governance is adhered to and controlled. A proven track record of successfully delivering Fit-for-Purpose CONCEPT/SELECT decommissioning FEEDs and EXECUTE of brownfield modifications for enabling decommissioning activities, development of decommissioning asset retirement obligations (AROs) cost estimates, engagement with decommissioning stakeholders such as North Sea Transition Authority (NTSA), Health & Safety Executive (HSEx) and Key Contactors for the development of Engineering, Removal, Preparation and Disposal (EPRD) scopes of work to be issued to the market. Expected: University degree in a relevant technical discipline (Engineering / Construction / Project Management), Project Management Professional (PMP), Associate for Project Management (APM) member or equivalent certification is preferred. Extensive pertinent experience in managing decommissioning projects, or parts of projects, mastering their area, and knowledgeable about impacts on other areas, Good level of experience in the UK North Sea Oil & Gas industry, and onshore/offshore work sites, Proven project management experience as well as a good understanding of business issues, Thorough understanding of project management techniques and practices, including: Stage Gate Project Management Processes, covering: Initial problem/opportunity appraisal/evaluation/screening, establishing which stages are applicable though Project/Controls/Engineering Tiering assessment, Establishing and prioritizing project goals/success criteria, as well as identifying critical success factors/constraints and execution strategy, in conjunction with the client, Solution option identification/framing, risks identification/assessment, verifying assumptions, discarding options deemed not technically feasible or aligned with success criteria, and comparison of viable options against prioritized success criteria to allow selection of preferred option and agreement with client, Further definition of the selected option through Front End Engineering Design (FEED), completing only the amount of engineering required to confirm technical feasibility (no show stoppers) sufficient to produce a Scope of Work, Cost Estimate and Delivery Schedule for Execute to an expected accuracy level of 10%-15%, along with an understanding of all remaining project risks. Project Execution/Implementation/Delivery as planned (with no/minimal changes), managing project risks effectively throughout Detailed Design Engineering, Materials Procurement and Fabrication, Vendor & Client Support, Construction, Commissioning, Handover and Close Out. Project Framing (clear definition of the distinct Scope of Work per project stage), Project Planning and Control, including application of earned value analysis, critical path identification and productivity analysis, Cost Estimating and Control, Project Risk Management though Identification, Assessment, Ranking, developing action plans for mitigating threats and realizing opportunities, then executing these effectively, Management of “No” Change, wherever possible, and managing unavoidable change in compliance with Wood and contractual procedures.
