The role of personal assistant for a 13-year-old boy to access sport activities and to improve his health and well-being. He enjoys social activities and loves to join in sport activities. The objective will be to improve his social skills and for him to gain confidence within himself. The duties will include attending sport activities and to social activities. Experience of working in the care sector or previous experience of working with children would be an advantage.
Responsible to: The parents of the child who is in receipt of Direct Payments.
Main Tasks:
You will be expected to come to the house to pick the young man up and may spend some time at the household.
To accompany the young man to the following:
Swimming sessions
Football
Rugby
Cinema
Eating out
Going to parks
Social activities
Meeting with friends
To ensure that due consideration is always given to Health & Safety.
Any other duty commensurate within the scope of the role of Personal Assistant.
Person Specification:
The successful applicant will need to:
Be punctual, reliable, and flexible.
To have previous experience of working in the care sector or with children would be desirable.
Establish a professional standard of care, which should be always maintained.
Be prepared to undertake any training that may be required to meet the needs of the role.
Undertake this role with due regard to physical, social, and recreational needs.
Respect and safeguard the goods and property of the employer.
Respect privacy and always uphold confidentiality.
Hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle, insured to include business use.
A Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) and two satisfactory references are conditional for the post. This is a free and confidential process.
