DesignBuild Search are working with a leading Mechanical Contractor in Birmingham who have an opening for a Sales Lead in their Sales & Business Development division. A standalone role it can be based anywhere in Birmingham. The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing the Marketing/Sales/Projects function for the business. This is more a consultative sell process to professionals rather than a trade counter sale with high frequency repeat business. You will get the opportunity to work on high value opportunities and position the cutting-edge product as the basis of design with clients / engineers on Data Centres / Pharmaceutical Facilities. You don’t need to have worked in a sales team before, but interested in being part of a growing commercial team.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Develop sales strategy for the business and utilise your contacts in Ireland and Europe
* Procure new business in line with agreed targets.
* Developing relationships with clients.
* Identify the key decision makers with new clients and turn this into new business.
* Identifying and reporting on business opportunities in target markets.
* Identifying sales channels globally either direct or distribution.
* Identifying sub-contractors to install the service globally to be used as partners.
* Submit a weekly status report and monthly reports to the CEO/MD.
* You will be expected to travel internationally as business requires.
Minimum Requirements
* Must be a qualified mechanical engineer, 3/5 years’ experience this is crucial for presenting to prospective clients and engineers
* Be proficient in BIM
* Good Communicator / Presenter and confident to deliver CPD/Lunch & Learn Sales presentations, business can train on the content
* They don’t necessarily need to have been in a sales team before, but interested in being part of a growing commercial team
* Experience in the Data Centre Industry dealing with contractors and factory heads
* Also experience working in the HVAC industry/Product manufacturing or Supply
* An interest in sales using mechanical engineering experience to step into that role
* Ability to travel
* Can provide detail on business won and results achieved
