Our SEND team are looking for a qualified Advisory Teacher to join their team The Specialist Special Educational Needs Service (SSENS) sits within our Wiltshire’s 0-25 Special Educational Needs, Disability, and Inclusion Service and offers expert support to enhance life opportunities for children and young people with additional needs. As a Specialist Teacher, you will work both virtually, using Microsoft Teams, and on-site through school visits. Your primary responsibility is to provide comprehensive, practical advice about specific learning, communication and behavioural challenges alongside recommending appropriate resources and interventions to enhance school provision. As part of this role, you will attend child-focused meetings, deliver training sessions to school staff and contribute to wider initiatives around SEND within the Local Authority. Our ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status and, ideally, a relevant post graduate qualification in SEND, alongside significant and recent experience supporting students with cognition and learning needs within mainstream provision. Experience in both Secondary and Primary phase is preferred. Specialist knowledge and experience in supporting Specific Learning Difficulties, delivering high-quality inclusive teaching, addressing barriers to learning and implementing strategies to support access to both the curriculum and the learning environment will be essential.
