For this role you must be fully flexible Monday to Sunday. You will be allocated shifts on a rotational basis. You must be able to work 8am-8pm or 8pm-8am depending if night or day shift.

The Home
Dunlarg care home is situated in the peaceful countryside in the village of Keady, County Armagh. The home has easy access to local shops and public transport. Dunlarg is made up of two units and in total cares for 58 residents. Dunlarg provides different categories of care from General Nursing to General Residential Care. Within the categories it can extend to Learning Disability, Mental Health, and Physical Disability under 65. All new residents are met with a warm welcome and are encouraged to enjoy their home from home experience.
The Role
You will pride yourself on providing high-quality, person-centred care to our residents, fostering a welcoming environment where residents are treated with respect and dignity, and staff feel valued and supported. As part of our frontline team, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of the Home, assisting with activities of daily living ensuring the wellbeing and comfort of residents. As a Care Assistant, you will also provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering meaningful relationships and promoting a sense of compassion; an advocacy for the rights and preferences of our residents.

About The Role
Main Responsibilities
* Assist residents with daily living activities, such as dressing, bathing, eating, and mobility.
* Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, helping them maintain a good quality of life.
* Help residents maintain independence where possible, encouraging involvement in activities.
* Assist with moving and handling residents using appropriate techniques and equipment.
* Support the nursing and healthcare team by monitoring residents' well-being and reporting any changes in their health or behaviour.
* Follow care plans tailored to individual residents' needs, ensuring their comfort and safety.
* Ensure a clean, safe, and homely environment for residents.

Desired Criteria
* Educated to QCF/ NVQ Level 2 is desirable, but not essential.
Required Criteria
* Right to work in the UK.
* Previous experience in Health and Social Care preferred, although not essential as full training will be provided.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* A good standard of oral and written English.
* A non-judgemental approach to others.
* Excellent communication skills with the compassion required to deliver high-quality care to our residents.
* Respectful to not only residents but the values and beliefs of other team members.
