At Animal Trust Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) are a vital part of the veterinary team, and we are committed to supporting the new generation of Veterinary Nurses. You will see a variety of cases with Animal Trust being a vital member of the team you will work through a rotational rota pattern ensuring exposure to all aspects of the role. As an apprentice, you will be paid to work 37.5 hour week 4 days a week in clinic and 1 day per week at college, during college summer holidays you will work your full week clinically. Our apprentices will be supported by a clinical coach and will learn: How to handle animals calmly and safely Husbandry of companion animals Vital clinical skills Reception and administration tasks As part of this apprenticeship you will receive a Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing and be eligible to apply for professional registration with the RCVS as a Registered Veterinary Nurse. About you Applicants must have achieved at least 5 level 2 qualifications (equivalent to GCSE grades 9 to 4 or A to C), including English, maths and a science subject The college is unable to accept candidates onto the L3 diploma in Veterinary Nursing unless they have either completed the L2 diploma in Veterinary Care Support or have at least one year of hands-on experience working in a Veterinary practice Passionate about animals - previous experience working with animals is essential Committed and hard-working Job particulars Duration: 36 months You will only be enrolled onto the college course if your 6 month probationary period is passed successfully 37.5 hours per week 4 days in clinic and 1 day in college Please note that you will need to be able to travel to the chosen college. Permanent job role may be available after the completion of the course Benefits Salary: first 6 months will be paid at £12PH Once enrolled as a student nurse you will enter into the Apprentice Pay Scale: Year 1: (£6.40 per hour) Years 2 & 3: National Minimum Wage College course costs will be covered by Animal Trust 6 weeks Annual Leave Contributory pension scheme
