Spire Norwich Hospital has an exciting opportunity to bring on an Engineering Assistant to join their established team on a Bank contract. This essentially is a 0-hour contract, providing flexibility to take shifts as needed, which can be to cover sickness, annual leave, or additional support for the hospital. The role's purpose is to assist the Engineering Manager and work as part of the engineering team to deliver a comprehensive and cost-efficient service within the hospital.
Responsibilities & Duties:
* Provide in-house reactive maintenance services daily.
* Undertake maintenance and testing of equipment, ensuring compliance with current HTM recommendations and legislative guidance.
* Assist in implementing and maintaining preventative maintenance programmes for all building services and equipment, including record-keeping.
* Identify personal training and development needs and discuss solutions with the line manager.
* Liaise with external contractors providing specialist services for building and equipment.
* Provide out-of-hours emergency on-call support.
* Maintain weekly records of plant and services to ensure operational parameters are met.
* Order materials for maintenance, ensuring appropriate stock levels, storage, and security.
* Deputise for the Engineering Manager in their absence and undertake other duties as assigned.
* Attend mandatory training and pursue ongoing professional development.
What we are looking for:
* Qualified as Mechanical Tradesmen to City & Guilds or equivalent.
* Flexibility to work multiple days per week, although not all shifts are required.
* Must have the right to work in the UK; this role does not offer visa sponsorship.
