The role
An opportunity has arisen (on a 9 month FTC) to join an ambitious team at British Airways to play a meaningful role in crafting the future of the airline as the Network and Alliances Business Transformation Manager. Reporting to the Chief Planning and Strategy Officer (CPSO), this role will suit an individual with expertise in airline scheduling, network and fleet planning, alliances and/or strategy.
What you’ll do
* Ensure the CPSO focuses on strategically critical demands by providing support and expertise as required.
* Own development and delivery of the N&A Transformation Programme.
* Build strong and positive relationships with the Leadership Team, Directorate, and the wider business.
* Lead the weekly Network & Alliances Leadership Team meetings and monthly and quarterly department forums. Prepare the agenda, coordinate with presenters, and manage time.
* Prepare the weekly MC brief for the CPSO, and ad-hoc briefings as required.
* Develop and collate data from various sources providing relevant insight/recommendations to aid the CPSO in decision-making and preparation for meetings.
* Co-ordinate and assist in preparing all submissions and presentations going from the Directorate to BA MC, BA Board, IAG MC, and IAG Board.
* Support/own projects across the Directorate, using subject matter expertise.
What you’ll bring to British Airways:
* Degree or equivalent experience.
* Prior experience in airline scheduling, network and fleet planning, alliances, and/or strategy.
* Project management experience/capability.
* Prior management consulting experience (desirable, not essential).
* Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines on multiple projects, and flexibly (e.g., longer hours) should peak activities require this.
* Able to manage conflict effectively, making significant trade-offs and demonstrating good judgment in taking risks.
* Customer-focus, excellent business judgment.
* Value for innovation and able to question the status quo.
