Onsite at the Fire Service college the Sports Centre provides sports & fitness services both to the college and the local community.
As the Leisure Centre and Events Assistant your role will be to assist the Sports Centre Manager in the smooth running of the Sports centre, as well as on occasion support the Centre and wider college with the running of events such as children's parties, pool parties and larger scale events across the Fire Service College.
This role will require working shifts - 37.5 hours a week - the centre is open 6am - 9.30pm weekdays and until 12pm weekends What you'll be doing:
• Carrying out lifeguarding duties as well delivery of swimming lessons if required
• General running of the centre reception desk including dealing with customers queries
• Membership administration
• Cleaning of the centre
• First aid support
• Supporting with the delivery of events held in the sports centre such as pool parties, children's parties including any planning required in advance
• Supporting with large scale events on site. Advance notice will be provided
• Working shifts including weekends
What we're looking for:
• Be in possession or in the process of gaining an RLSS NPLQ qualification
• Preferred experience within the Leisure and/or Events industry or another suitable role.
• An interest in Sport and the Leisure industry.
• Good communication skills - people skills
• Ability to work in a team and independently
• Competent swimmer
• Flexible to work shifts
