Pharmacy Technician - Clinical Trials Service

Job overview
We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified Registered Pharmacy Technician for a Clinical Trials and Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician role. We are keen to develop the roles of our technical staff and to support their training and progression. This is an exciting opportunity to learn new skills in a specialised area of pharmacy in order to expand your knowledge and experience whilst also carrying out a Medicines Management pharmacy technician role at ward level.
Main duties of the job
Your role will include assisting the development, provision and maintenance of a safe, efficient and professional Clinical Trials service at The Royal Oldham Hospital in line with National standards, guidelines, local policy and procedures.
Main duties include:
1. Coordinating the receipt, supply, checking, delivery, returning and disposal of clinical trial medication including maintaining appropriate accountability records, in line with current legislation and regulations.
2. Providing support and guidance to staff under supervision.
3. Facilitating external monitoring and audit of clinical trial activity.
4. Providing a clinical technical pharmacy service to designated wards and departments to support the clinical pharmacists in the provision of complete pharmaceutical care to patients.
As a self-motivated and enthusiastic professional, you must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and hold the BTEC Professional Development Certificate in Dispensing Technician Checking.
There will be a requirement to participate in extended working hours including late nights, weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis.
