Location: Bradford / Hybrid Working (1-2 days office a week Bradford)
Work type: This is a permanent opportunity, working full time, 37 hours per week, within our working window of 8:00am-6:00pm, Monday- Friday

Where you fit in:
As our Technical Specialist you will:
* Provide technical support to the strategy teams through the development of outline wastewater treatment schemes utilizing Yorkshire Water's Excel-based YW Design and Value Engineering tool to build the WINEP programme and other strategic water quality asset plans.
* Work with the business to develop process selection matrices to build new and emerging water quality compliance needs driven by existing legislation, the Environment Act, and legacy European legislation.
* Provide lead on reviewing, updating, and improving the functionality of YW's Design and Value Engineering Tool.
* Implement standards, policies, and processes relevant to the role into the business to ensure consistency of approach and quality of information.
* Work with the YW Innovation Team to understand, develop, and implement best practices and innovations supported with measuring and monitoring the implementation of these new ideas.
* Work with the costing team to develop appropriate totex cost models to service the needs of the WINEP and other treatment requirements.
* Work with the Drainage Waste Management Plan (DWMP) team to understand how to mitigate and solve growth in future treatment requirements.
* Contribute to the construction of business cases in support of securing efficient funding with the economic regulator Ofwat.
* Support the technical experts in Strategy & Regulation and in the wider business to understand costs and efficiencies in the application of process selection and design.
What skills & qualifications you will need:
* Degree qualified.
* Wastewater and biosolids treatment process experience.
* Experience of working with a team to deliver high volumes of work with short deadlines.
* Experience of challenging others to help achieve the right outcomes and able to influence and drive the right culture and behaviours.
* Ability to interpret challenging business objectives and deliver meaningful outputs to achieve the objectives within the context of this role.
* Develops and maintains effective internal and external relationships.
* Experience of representing a business in audits and other technical meetings to achieve the desired outcomes and drive the right culture and behaviours.
You will also benefit from having:
* Relevant academic/professional qualifications (preferably Chartered or holding full membership of an appropriate professional body e.g. IChemE or CIWEM).
* Experience of driving sustainable performance against challenging business targets.
* Previous experience in a commercially orientated and/or regulated environment.
* Previous experience gained within the water or wastewater sectors or within the broader utilities, process, or manufacturing industry sectors.
* Experience of the development of operations and maintenance plans, asset management plans, statistical process control, and reliability plans, including the use of tools such as Failure Mode Effect Casual Analysis (FMECA) is desirable.
* Good IT and analytical skills, in particular Excel.
