Description Health and Safety Advisor. Salary: £37,000 per annum. Location: Homebased with some UK travel. Contract: Permanent – 35 hours per week. A bit about the role It's an exciting time to join the Health and Safety Team at Action for Children, and we are looking for a collaborative, energised and forward-thinking individual to join our ambitious team. As Health and Safety Advisor, you will deliver holistic professional and competent health and safety advice and guidance to a variety of services, and in particular to managers to enable them to operate within legal requirements and best practice. How you'll help to create brighter futures Providing professional and competent advice to develop the understanding and application of health and safety requirements across the organisation. Ensuring a high quality of support through regular communication, site visits, and audits. Managing and supporting the implementation of agreed strategies, including applying initiatives and approaches to support organisational change that contributes to the development of management standards, risk assessments and implementation plans. Auditing and monitoring of health and safety arrangements, reporting on areas of risk and identifying remedial action. Collecting and reporting on relevant management information, producing meaningful reports to aid business improvement. Working in conjunction with the Head of Health and Safety and Senior Health and Safety Advisor to ensure health and safety training and development matters are developed and applied effectively and delivers best value. Developing and maintaining effective and meaningful relationships, both within and external to the organisation, actively promoting and facilitating collaborative working and sharing best practice. Let's talk about you Membership of relevant professional body such as IOSH or IIRSM. NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent skills, knowledge, and experience. Experience in providing high quality professional and competent health and safety advice across a geographically dispersed organisation and at all levels of the organisation. Evidence of leading accident investigation and the production of high-quality investigation reports. Demonstrable evidence of applying EDI policies in the workplace. Effective time management. Excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation. Demonstrable verbal and written communication skills, including writing reports and presentations to varied groups.
