Job Responsibilities:
1. Producing food for all service periods in the Restaurant, Bar/Lounge, Banqueting, Room Service, and Afternoon tea.
2. Preparation, production, and service of food to the standard required in a timely and efficient manner.
3. Utilizing fresh local seasonal produce wherever possible, with some grown in our small kitchen garden. Food is cooked and prepared from fresh on a daily basis.
4. Assisting with the preparation of daily/weekly orders for food and kitchen supplies adhering to stock control procedures as directed by the Head/Sous Chef.
5. Being responsible for receiving and storing all relevant food and non-food items.
6. Assisting Head/Sous Chef with daily menu planning and composition as required.
7. Supporting the Head and Sous Chef with the design of menu items for the restaurant, afternoon tea, and banqueting menus.
8. Deputizing for the Head Chef/Sous Chef in their absence, including supervision of the kitchen (team of 8 Chefs + 3 Kitchen Porters), internal communication, and attending meetings.
9. Practicing and promoting effective teamwork and communication amongst direct work colleagues and colleagues in other departments.
10. Carrying out daily cleaning duties within the kitchen as directed by the Head/Sous Chef, in addition to following a clean-as-you-go policy.
11. Ensuring compliance with in-house HACCP and food hygiene, health, and safety systems.
12. Completing duties with an attitude of striving to exceed standards to promote improvements and raise the quality of feedback from all diners across the hotel.

The business offers varied catering to hotel guests, in-house conference delegates, and local area guests. Barnett Hill is a popular wedding venue hosting 38-40 weddings per year for up to 70 guests with evening receptions.
The Place:
Barnett Hill Hotel, part of Alexander Hotels, a private collection of quality hotels of distinction just outside London, has completed exciting refurbishment and redevelopment plans. The venue, set in 26 acres of maintained gardens and woodlands, has transformed into a beautiful Country House Hotel. The hotel, including all bedrooms, has been completely refurbished, with recent work completed on the Mews building increasing the total number of bedrooms to 56. Our first AA inspection has awarded the hotel 4 Stars and 2 Rosettes for dining.
