Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will work within a multidisciplinary team at the King's School Canterbury Health Centre and the Junior King's School Medical Centre subject to shift availability. Shadow shifts will be arranged to allow for induction to the role.
Reporting to the Senior Nurse/Health Centre Manager, key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Providing medical services to all pupils and in addition members of staff and any school visitors on site if the need arises.
2. Ensuring availability for pupil consultations over the 24-hour period.
3. Providing confidential support to pupils and staff and other health advice as appropriate.
4. Promoting health education throughout the school population.
5. Providing and offering education on sexual health matters.
6. Maintaining accurate, confidential and contemporaneous medical records.
Candidate Profile
This role would be suitable for a qualified experienced Nurse, who is happy to work under a flexible arrangement, whereby they could be called upon at short notice to cover shifts within our Health Centre. The King’s School wishes to build its own bank of nursing professionals who are fully inducted and trained into the routines of the School Health Centre and who are flexible in their availability to cover shifts from time to time.
