Service Planner Opportunity
We're looking for an organised and proactive Service Planner to act as the main point of contact for our MOD contract. Youll manage maintenance scheduling, defect reporting, and fleet records, ensuring compliance with key performance indicators and contract requirements. This role is essential in coordinating service needs, optimizing workflows, and delivering top:tier customer service to both internal teams and external partners.
Service Planner Duties
: Handle incoming service requests via phone, email, and other channels.
: Log and track vehicle defects while ensuring timely repairs.
: Schedule and manage maintenance in line with MOD contract guidelines.
: Maintain vehicle records using JAMES and internal systems.
: Ensure compliance with mandatory inspections and documentation.
: Allocate field service engineers based on location and availability.
: Monitor job progress and communicate updates to all stakeholders.
: Verify invoicing details and ensure timely billing.
: Support process improvements and collaborate with internal teams.
: Provide cover and handovers within the department when needed.
Service Planner skills/experience required
: Experience gained in a simialr role withn the automotive, Defence or engineering sector
: Excellent communication via phone and email.
: Problem:solving mindset with a proactive approach to process improvements.
: High:level proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
: Adaptability to changing priorities and customer needs.
: Experience in customer service or service coordination is a plus.
