Calderdale Council is offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, positive, and energetic Social Work Qualified Practitioner to join our small dynamic fostering and SGO team.

Role Overview: As the social worker for the Special Guardianship Support. You will work collaboratively with our partner agencies to enhance the network available to Special Guardianship families and ensure that the Calderdale SGO support offer is widely known and utilised by Special Guardians and those working with SGO families.
The post holder will be primarily responsible for undertaking assessments of need and also contributing to the adoption and special guardianship support fund applications and undertaking therapeutic intervention with SGO families both pre and post order.
The social worker will need to be a self-motivated individual with excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to take responsibility for the development of specific areas of professional social work practice. You will be working closely with Special Guardians and a good understanding of special guardians and their needs is essential.
Applications will be considered from qualified social worker (BA/DipSW/CQSW or equivalent), registered with Social Work England and who can demonstrate qualifying experience gained within statutory children and families service.
