Join our friendly staff team in the picturesque setting of Valence School in Westerham, as a Waking Night Student Support Assistant. You will support our residential students during the night by
supporting students with all aspects of daily living;
assisting with students eating and drinking;
attending to students personal care needs including washing, dressing and toileting;
ensuring that communication with students, staff, and other departments is effective and contributes to securing efficiency and high standards of care for students;
appropriately using the recording and reporting processes;
maintaining high standards of safety and observing good practice in relation to safeguarding, health and safety issues and to be aware of, and implement, students’ care plans.
The role will involve a substantial amount of moving and handling and experience of complex physical and medical needs is desirable. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and have a flexible and can-do attitude. This is a highly rewarding career and full training will be given. In addition you will be supported to complete the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare along with continuing training opportunities.
There is also the option to cover one night during 16 Open weekends in term time, in which the school is open to provide respite to families.
You will be paid a total hourly payment of £15.72 per hour for the hours worked between 10pm to 7am on weekdays and a total of £19.79 per hour for all hours worked at the weekend.
