We’re looking for a passionate Finance Business Plan - Data, Process & Assurance Manager to join our Regulatory Finance team! As the Finance Business Plan Manager, you will play an integral role in the agreement of the regulatory price control with our regulator, Ofgem. This agreement sets our revenues and financial framework for the future, and this role will be key to delivering a positive outcome.
You will assist in various key areas to gain comprehensive experience across all aspects of the regulatory finance function. This will involve liaising with Ofgem and internal stakeholders regarding the content of regulatory tables and submissions. Additionally, you will take ownership of certain aspects of the assurance work within the overall submission and consolidated planning model by reviewing supporting information and data inputs.
This role is based out of our Warwick office, and we’d hope to see you at least two days per week but you’re welcome to be in the office more often if that would work best for you. We’re happy to discuss any additional flexibility in working patterns or requirements that you feel could help to make this job work for you!
What You'll Do
* Manage and co-ordinate the process by setting accurate timetables, key performance metrics and guidance for building the Totex business plan for our Distribution and Transmission Business Price Control.
* Work with finance business partners and internal stakeholders to understand and agree how data will be captured and modelled to meet price control and business requirements to ensure a smooth, on-time process.
* Challenge, review, and analyze data inputs and outputs to ensure these match stakeholder expectations.
* Create input templates, guidance documentation, and assurance templates for users.
* Comfortable working with large datasets, data modelling, associated data analysis and playback of findings to stakeholders in PowerPoint presentations pulling out key insights.
* Work as an intermediary between the business and Ofgem to resolve regulatory guidance/model issues and supplementary questions (SQs).
* Develop and implement an assurance plan across the overall price control, by business partnering with the regulation team and SMEs.
* Identify risks to the finance business plan process, attending regular risk meetings with the extended team.
* Responsible for the management and development of 1 direct report.
* Support the Finance Business Plan Lead, Regulatory Finance CFO, and the wider regulatory finance team.
What You'll Have
* Accounting Qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
* Experience of running assurance processes
* Resilient, hard-working, and determined to drive through change
* Focused on the detail, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Experience in identifying risks and developing risk profiles
* The ability to learn technical regulatory concepts at pace
* Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with ability to build productive working relationships
* Strong PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel (advanced level) skills including data modelling
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Regulatory experience is preferential but not essential
