About the role
We are looking for a reliable Security Officer to join our team in Edinburgh. While 1 year of experience is preferred, it is not essential. If you have customer service experience and hold an SIA licence, we encourage you to apply. The role offers the opportunity for day and night shifts on a 4 on, 4 off rotation.
Location: Edinburgh
Hours: 42 hours per week (4 on, 4 off – days and nights)
Salary: £12 per hour (equating to £26,200 per annum) + opportunity to earn more with overtime

Job Description
What You’ll Do:
1. Be the first line of defence in handling security incidents and emergencies, swiftly responding to disturbances, alarms, or breaches to maintain a safe environment.
2. Provide a professional and welcoming presence for visitors and contractors, ensuring smooth operations on-site.
3. Maintain vigilance by patrolling designated areas, monitoring CCTV systems, and conducting regular security checks to identify any vulnerabilities.
4. Ensure the client's facilities meet compliance standards, conduct routine inspections, enforce security protocols, and document any issues or discrepancies.
5. Monitor and control access to the premises, ensuring strict control over who enters the site.
6. Perform searches when necessary, adhering to procedures with the utmost professionalism and respect.
What We’re Looking For:
1. Ideally 1 year of experience in security or customer service, but full training will be provided.
2. Strong communication skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
3. A proactive approach with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving abilities.
4. Flexibility to work days and nights, including weekends and public holidays.
5. SIA licence and reasonable commuting distance to Edinburgh.
