Summary:
The Sustainability Coordinator is responsible for working within our clients existing Sustainability Team and employees across all three islands, under the direction of our Chief Sustainability Officer (based in Guernsey). This role is responsible for supporting the clients Sustainability Team to deliver the Net Zero related workstreams and projects required to Role Model Net Zero as an energy company and group. The role holder shall demonstrate accountability for this role by coordinating the delivery of CSR initiatives that align with the clients chosen UN Sustainable Development Goals and proactively coordinating the delivery of internal Net Zero actions, communications and awareness across the business to help meet the group’s science-based targets and the objectives of the clients Sustainability Strategy.
The daily duties will include:
Work as part of the Sustainability team to deliver Net Zero and sustainability workstreams across the group.
Coordinate and support the delivery of Sustainability Strategy and Net Zero Action Plan for the business.
Coordinate projects which shall help to drive Net Zero R&D and innovation across the Group related to gas decarbonisation and energy performance.
Work with internal stakeholders to develop and implement the ‘Role Model Net Zero’ North Star across the business.
Support the CSO with the running of the (internal) Sustainability Working Group and to progress environmental sustainability initiatives and opportunities, and general internal stakeholder relationship management on sustainability matters.
Coordinate the development of business cases for environmental sustainability projects.
Engage with the local community and local interested groups and coordinate CSR activities that are aimed at promoting and achieving IEG’s sustainability strategic objectives and selected UN Sustainable Development Goals to protection the environment and give back to the local community.
Look for opportunities for the business to get involved in carbon reduction and sustainability related projects which may promote the business and benefit the local community and island.
Carrying out any other duties requested within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.
