About the role:
As our Customer Delivery Installer Porter, you will be the face of the John Lewis & Partners brand. You’ll maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety regulations in our customers’ homes.
This non-driver role will be a great opportunity for Partners who are looking to develop their career in the Customer Delivery Hub. You will need to complete a 13 week Porter training programme. Once completed, you will be able to successfully install product assembly, wet connections, TV, and Advance Audio Installations.
Please note this role involves heavy lifting.
During the 13 week training programme, you will attend different training courses to learn:
At the end of the 13 weeks, you will be assessed on the above elements to obtain your Installer Porter qualification.
What you will be doing:
Your typical day will start with safely loading your vehicle. You will then undertake your deliveries and collections for the day alongside your colleague.
Communication with your customers is key, and you will need to ensure you call every customer 30 minutes before you are due to arrive. Upon arrival, you will deliver the customers' goods to their room of choice and undertake any services that have been booked. These may include: installation and disconnection of white goods, assembly of flat pack, TV installations, and offering to take away the packaging.
Desirable skills you can bring to this role:
Previous experience in a customer-facing role, previous experience of the installation of white goods, building of furniture, or associated skills.
