Mechanical Fitters
Up to £28,000
Location: South Tyneside
I am currently working on behalf of a specialist design and manufacturer of heat transfer technology across a range of sectors including utilities, petrochemical producers, military, and rail organisations. They are looking for several Mechanical Fitters to join their team in South Tyneside.
All our work should be completed in a safe manner, which complies with the Company's Health & Safety and Environmental policies as well as all current legislation.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct inspection and assessments with reports, sketches, and any relevant information to allow for quotations to be completed.
2. Assemble and install heat exchange systems based on engineering drawings and specifications.
3. Ensure proper alignment, fit, and functionality of components during installation.
4. Conduct maintenance on heat exchange systems to ensure optimal performance.
5. Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
6. Conduct quality checks on assembled components and finished systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications, including pressure testing.
7. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, and installations.
8. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines at all times.
Skills Required:
1. Background as a Mechanical Fitter - involved in work such as assembling mechanical components, adjusting and fitting parts with tight tolerances.
2. Desirable experience with hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure testing of heat exchanges.
3. Experience in diagnosing mechanical issues, identifying faults, and recommending or carrying out repairs.
4. Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles such as fluid dynamics and thermodynamics in relation to heat exchange performance.
