Assistant Procurement Manager needed in Oldham Paying £350 per day ref 0009 BA04 /1
Full time hours on a temporary basis
Responsible for managing category spend as instructed by the Category Manager, ensuring value for money and strategic objectives are met. Work with strategic partners to control expenditure through a strategic category management approach.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct procurement activities and manage commercial risk.
* Develop sourcing plans aligned with category strategies.
* Engage with stakeholders to align sourcing plans with Directorate strategy.
* Deliver benefits through sourcing strategies and ensure savings targets and KPIs are met.
* Ensure compliance with procurement methodology and relevant legislation.
* Update strategic analysis of markets and supplier trends.
* Develop performance indicators and ensure departmental KPIs are met.
* Manage tender processes and produce contract performance reports.
* Participate in regional and sub-regional procurement arrangements.
* Develop and maintain contract monitoring arrangements.
Qualifications:
* Working towards Membership of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.
* Commitment to continued professional development.
* Experience in managing expenditure within a specific category in a public or private sector environment.
* Proven experience in delivering procurement category strategies and financial savings.
* Experience in preparing, analysing, and reporting procurement management information.
* Experience in developing and implementing key contractual performance indicators.
* Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
