This post is funded through the Direct Payments scheme and is intended to enable this lady to manage her support independently by employing her assistant.
The main duties to be included in this role are:
• Provide companionship through good interaction. Explore this young lady’s interests and get to know what her likes and dislikes are. Support her to develop them. This young lady enjoys swimming, bowling, going on short walks and going to the beach.
• Provide support and encouragement for this young lady when out and about in the community to enable her to participate in and try new, fun and interesting activities to improve her confidence, abilities and satisfaction. This lady enjoys routine.
• Give this young Lady consistent one-to-one support and adapt to meet all of her emotional needs, enabling her to personally develop and to work through any issues she has and put them into perspective as well as reassure her repetitively when she gets anxious. A happy person who has a good sense of humour and similar interests would be ideal for this role.
• This young lady requires medical support as she has epilepsy therefore a personal assistant would need to be trained in administering buccal diazepam or be willing to train.
• This young lady is not aware of the dangers therefore a personal assistant would be required to keep this young lady safe.
• Carry out any other reasonable tasks that your employer requests.

• Flexibility around hours of work and main duties of the job.
• Reliable with good timekeeping.
• Able to use initiative and be self-motivated.
• Able to maintain confidentiality and be aware of privacy.
• An ability to develop and maintain a supportive relationship.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• A full driver's license and use of a car is required. You must have business use on your insurance to be able to use the vehicle within work hours.

5.6 weeks holiday per year (pro rata).
