The Role
We are offering an exciting opportunity to lead our Front Door to Children’s Social Care Team. You’ll manage a diverse team including 3 Coordinators, 4 Social Workers, 2 Senior Social Workers, and our established Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). Our team is expanding, and in the months ahead, we’ll integrate the Adolescent Safety Framework into our services. You'll also collaborate closely with the newly formed Assessment Team, working hand-in-hand with their manager to ensure seamless and effective service delivery.
In this role, you’ll be part of a supportive and forward-thinking team that values collaboration and continuous learning. As Team Manager, you’ll be line-managed by the Head of Front Door and Family Wellbeing and play a vital role in managing resources, shaping strategy, and building strong partnerships with multi-agency professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, manage, and supervise a team of Social Workers, ensuring statutory duties are fulfilled, national standards are met, and professional best practices are upheld.
* Provide expert leadership, supervision, and guidance to your team, ensuring sound decision-making and effective case management.
* Collaborate with the Police and partner agencies to ensure referrals are triaged and addressed within statutory timelines, providing support and guidance to both service users and professionals.
* Oversee resource allocation and manage budgets to ensure service efficiency and effectiveness.
* Work closely with the newly established Assessment Team Manager to ensure cohesive working relationships across teams.
This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
About You
We are looking for an experienced, driven leader who is passionate about supporting children and families. You should have a clear understanding of the challenges in social care and be ready to bring innovative ideas to the role.
Essential Criteria:
* A Social Work qualification (degree-level) and registration with Social Work England.
* At least 5 years of post-qualifying experience as a Social Worker.
* Proven experience in a leadership role within a relevant area of practice.
* Strong understanding of childcare procedures and the legislative framework guiding children’s social care.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
You must hold a valid driving licence and have access to your own transport, or provide an alternative, suitable means of travel.
