Job Role
To manage the delivery of design services in a manner that delivers the end-to-end activities of forward programming, ECI, feasibility & detailed design, works pricing and procurement, technical support during mobilisation and construction phases, and close out processes (As-built records, H&S files, and final accounting) efficiently and achieves customer outcomes.
Duties
1. To develop, implement & monitor processes and procedures that achieve client and business key performance indicators.
2. To promote safe working practices in accordance with Health & Safety Policy and to lead by example demonstrating commitment for zero incidents.
3. Support Clients' objectives and maintain a strong relationship based on trust and integrity.
4. Effectively lead and manage the performance and development of a team in line with company and local business objectives.
5. Adhere to corporate processes, policies and procedures ensuring consistency throughout local teams.
6. Promote a culture of delivering continual efficiencies reducing companies and clients out turn costs.
Person Specification
1. Ability to advise Clients at all stages of project/service development in both written format and verbally of key issues and risks that will affect delivery of the service(s).
2. Understanding and experience of all commercial and financial requirements processes required to support the delivery of a business within the Highways sector.
3. Ability to engage and conduct effective negotiations with client (technical, programme and commercial departments), stakeholders, subcontractors and third parties.
4. A comprehensive understanding of highway works and maintenance.
5. A detailed understanding (through experience and learning) of the NEC3 form of contract and its application within Highways Works.
