Central Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Housing Officer to work in the Haringey area. The service provides a high quality housing management service by being a primary point of contact for tenants. The successful candidate will be required to work 32 hours (4 days) per week, working between Monday - Friday, 9AM - 5:30PM. There are flexible starting and finishing times. Please note; the candidate will need to work the same days each week and is required to work Friday's. Cover is required for approximately 2 - 6 months. The pay rate for this role is £18.06 per hour, with £3.10 holiday pay, totalling £21.16 per hour. Please note; this role may include hybrid working of 1 day per week at home depending on the needs of the service. For the first 2 - 3 weeks, there is no working from home. In this position, you will be expected to; Ensure the Service accommodation is safe, comfortable and appropriate for the needs of its occupants. Interview and assess applicants. In particular, ensure that prospective tenants and residents have a positive attitude towards sharing, realistic expectations and awareness of their own obligations towards their housemates and the organisation. Be proactive in establishing positive relationships, intervene at an early stage in tenant disputes, and deliver a speedy and focused response to anti-social behaviour and other breaches of tenancy. Allocate and let void properties. Carry out accompanied viewings and manage the sign-up process, ensuring that all new tenants understand their rights and responsibilities Enforce the organisations arrears recovery policy, including proactive discussions with residents, early intervention, home visits and court/eviction attendance. Carry out regular stock condition inspections, health & safety and service inspections including cleaning and gardening. Be aware of any antisocial behaviour affecting neighbours or our residents and deal with this as per policy Carry out pre- and post- inspections of reported maintenance issues. Arrange for the procurement of furniture and other items where this is agreed with agencies who purchase our services. Work with tenants to develop priorities for minor works and environmental improvements, with particular reference to décor, communal areas and gardens. Assist tenants to deal with other agencies, including Universal Credit and Housing Benefit Advise tenants who want to move on, of their housing options To apply for this role, you must have: Minimum 1 years' experience of housing management Knowledge and understanding of voids, income and rent arrears Experience of ordering and assessing repairs Understanding of Health & Safety law Candidates must confirm their interest as soon as possible, with interviews scheduled shortly after and the appointed candidate expected to start as soon as possible.
