Five Education require a behaviour mentor to work in a special school in Yeovil. You will be supporting a SEMH (Social Emotional and Mental Health needs) class, and working either with the whole class or 1:1.
Responsibilities and duties:
Working alongside classroom teachers to support the behaviour of identified pupils
Assisting with inclusion activities
Assisting with the differentiation of lessons
Working 1:1 or with small groups with pupils who have a diagnosis of SEMH.
Potentially working with small groups or in a 1:1 setting
Be flexible and willing to work with students outside the classroom, this school offers alternative education options including vocational subjects
Using de-escalation techniques to ensure pupils are calm and able to access the full range of education offered
Providing a positive role model for young people
Providing feedback and helping with assessments
Essential Criteria:
Patience, flexibility and dedication
Confident to support in KS3 and KS4
A calm demeanour
Good behaviour management skills
You will be able to demonstrate strong behaviour management skills
Have a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa)
Relevant DBS/Police checks*
