Department: Community Diagnostic Centre / Cardiology Outpatients
Band 2 £23,615 per annum
Hours: 37.5 per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working
We are excited to announce that Milton Keynes University have recently had a business case approved to expand our Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) cardiology and respiratory services. We are currently recruiting a number of roles, from Chief Physiologist to Driver, within the Medicine division and Estates department.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated flexible individual to join our team of experienced staff. Our Community Diagnostic Centre / outpatient cardiology unit provides patients with easy access to Cardiology diagnostic and interventional procedures these include electrocardiography (ECG), assisting with procedures, downloading, setting up and fitting of diagnostic electrocardiography and blood pressure monitors and all other aspects of patient's needs within the outpatient department.
You will be expected to work in all areas of the Community Diagnostic Centre / Cardiology outpatients. This busy unit is open Monday to Friday, working hours are variable between 08:00- 18:00 to cover the needs of the unit.

To assist physiologist and qualified nursing staff in providing high quality care by carrying out tests and procedures as required on the daily schedule.
To ensure the smooth running of outpatient clinics that run throughout the day. This will require the post holder to organise their own day to day work once given to them by nursing staff and physiologists.
The post holder will act under the direction and supervision of a trained physiologist or nurse.

· Perform tests and procedures on adults and children.
· To be competent in the use of observation machines for blood pressure, oxygen saturations and monitoring.
· Carry out routine observation, height, weight, ECG and BMI for clinics reporting any abnormalities to a senior staff member.
· Assist with clinics to ensure streamlined flow through the department, this will include designated responsibility for clinics by senior staff.
· To be fully knowledgeable of performing ECG’s, monitoring and departmental procedures.
· To set up and download 24, 48, 72 hr and 7 day ambulatory ECG monitors.
· To carry out venepuncture and cannulation as required.
