SALARY: £37,338 per annum (AFC Band 6) + Benefits

KEY REQUIREMENT: Applicants must be 18+ due to prison-based working AND must hold a valid UK driving licence with access to their own vehicle as travel between sites or locations may be necessary.

JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner with PWP accreditation, a postgraduate qualification in Psychological Therapies (IAPT) and experience of working in a supervisory role. Working as a Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner you will lead the delivery of Step 1 and 2 therapies into HMP Northumberland.
As the Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner you will provide evidence-based talking therapies in line with the stepped care model. The service is part of an integrated service of healthcare.
DUTIES
1. Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service.
2. Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to referral protocols, and refer unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary.
3. Assess and support people with mental health problems in the self-management of their recovery.
4. Undertake person-centred interviews identifying areas where the person wishes to see change and or recovery and make an accurate assessment of risk to self and others.
5. Provide assessment and Low intensity interventions.
6. Implement and support a range of evidence-based interventions utilising a self-management model of mental health care.
7. Attend multi-disciplinary meetings relating to referrals or clients in treatment.
8. Work in partnership with other disciplines and to maintain links with statutory and non-statutory agencies as appropriate, in relation to continuing care on release from prison.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
1. Successfully completed academic course of study in line with the IAPT Low Intensity National Programme and qualified as a PWP, e.g. Post Grad Diploma in Psychological Therapies.
2. Willingness to learn, adapt and evolve to meet service and organisational demands.
3. Completed or in the process of completing the IAPT supervision training.
4. Experience of working in a supervisory role.
5. Have significant post-qualification experience in offering and delivering the full range of evidence-based IAPT low intensity interventions at Step 2.
6. Knowledge of assessment procedures, screening, referral, record-keeping and evidence-based brief psychological interventions. Significant knowledge of IAPT compliant step 2 ways of working.
