Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Project Manager with a background in Nuclear to be engaged on a permanent basis in the Suffolk area. We are currently recruiting for experienced Project Managers to join a team supporting EDF Energy Nuclear Generation and its nuclear fleet across the UK. While flexible working arrangements between office and home may be available, this role will predominantly be based at A Nuclear Power Station and will require occasional travel to other UK sites/stations. Key Responsibilities Accountable to the client PPM for the successful delivery of all aspects of assigned projects. Develop and execute the project strategy in agreement with the client PPM. Lead a cross-functional project team to deliver the project safely, aligning with policies and procedures while achieving set goals within the agreed baseline. Report to the business Operations Manager while remaining accountable for project delivery directly to the client. Maintain a proven track record of working in highly regulated environments with strong safety standards and culture. Foster relationships, maintain effective networks, and focus on achieving results with a team-centred approach. Qualifications Degree educated, ideally in engineering or a related field; Chartered status is preferred. APMP formal project management qualification or equivalent, with expertise in modern project management techniques. Comprehensive knowledge of engineering, design, procurement, safety case development, construction, installation/commissioning management, and commercial contracting. Strong understanding of safety cases, their development and implementation, and compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation, including CDM. In-depth understanding of quality assurance and control, with relevant experience in commercial, contractual, and financial project drivers. Demonstrated experience managing projects throughout the full lifecycle, particularly in complex, multi-discipline environments. Proficiency in estimating, cost control, planning, and commercial awareness, including preparation of business cases and sanction/funding papers. Skilled in report preparation and the use of tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, scheduling, programming, and risk management software, as well as Earned Value tools. Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities. Experience working at power stations and nuclear-licensed sites is preferred but not essential.
